As digital creators, we have the power to shape perceptions around beauty standards. With AI image generation tools creating inumerous pieces of content, this power is exponentially magnified. So, how do we ensure we're using it responsibly? I wanted to share the nuances of inclusive AI prompting.
💡 Inclusive Prompting Should Be A Non-Negotiable
We all know that these tools are groundbreaking. Yet, they often reflect societal biases embedded in their training data. If we thoughtfully craft our prompts, we can guide AI to create images that reflect how diverse this world is.
🌐 Being Specific Helps The Tools To Produce Better Output
Instead of vague prompts like "a beautiful woman," go for detailed descriptions like "a middle-aged woman wearing a hijab, smiling confidently." The goal here is to minimise bias and highlight the richness of real beauty in its different forms.
🎨 Being Creatively Responsible
Our goal should be to steer away from harmful stereotypes and represent a spectrum of skin tones, body types, ages, and cultural backgrounds. Highlight features like “stretch marks, diverse body sizes, or cultural attire” to make a real difference.
